As a fellow chef, woman writer, and now post-menopausal person, I loved this.

I’m past the monthly cycle part, but I recognise the deeper truth here: the body is always communicating, and so many of us were taught to treat those messages as inconvenience, weakness, lack of discipline, or something to override. What I love most is the idea of the kitchen as a place to listen first. Not “fix yourself.” Not “punish the craving.” Not “be better.” Just: what is your body asking for, and how can you feed it with some kindness?

Food as support, not correction. That feels like something women of every hormonal era deserve.
